What you will learn
The full AAP/AHA NRP 8th Edition algorithm from initial assessment through advanced resuscitation
Recognition of the newborn who requires intervention within the first 60 seconds ("Golden Minute")
Effective positive-pressure ventilation (PPV), the single most important step in newborn resuscitation
Chest compressions, medication administration, and advanced airway management for depleted neonates
Team-based communication, closed-loop orders, and role clarity during a resuscitation event
Special considerations: preterm infants, meconium-stained fluid, and post-resuscitation stabilization

Instructor-led, hands-on NRP Provider skills session with an AAP-approved NRP instructor
Simulation-based scenarios covering routine care, PPV, compressions, and full resuscitation
Bag-mask ventilation and airway management practice on infant manikins

Before you register
Online cognitive portion required first. Complete the NRP online examination at nrplearningplatform.com/login with a passing score of 80% or higher. Bring your online completion certificate to the skills session.
90-day rule: The in-person skills check-off must be completed within 90 days of finishing the online portion.
Your NRP provider card is valid for 2 years. Please choose Initial if this is your first NRP certification. Choose Renewal / Recertification if you currently hold or have recently held an NRP card. If you are unsure, choose Initial and contact hello@goalsnmynd.com for guidance.
About your Instructor
LaShounn Stevenson, RN, brings over 17 years of nursing experience with 11+ years at the labor and delivery bedside. She is an American Heart Association BLS and Heartsaver instructor and teaches fetal monitoring, resuscitation, and clinical communication to L&D and perinatal teams. Her NRP courses focus on the real decisions clinicians make in the first 60 seconds of life — practical, current, and delivery-room ready.
